The End

«If you want a happy ending, that depends, of course, on where you stop your story» -Orson Wells (1915-1985).

And mine will stop here…I want to say thanks to the few people who read my blog for the month and a half. I know the title is 365 quotes but I will stop posting. I think my energy will be better spent on other matters.

Pastries & Bread

Bread deals with living things, with giving life, with growth, with the seed, the grain that nurtures.  It is not coincidence that we say bread is the staff of life.  Lionel Poilane French baker (1945-2002)

Do I need to say more then the title of this post. Simply enjoying the best bread and some of the greatest pastries in the world. Yuummyyyyyyyyyyy.

The Alps

«I believe that there is a subtle magnetism in Nature, which, if we unconsciously yield to it, will direct us aright».  Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862)

I almost forgot how beautiful the Alps are. Majestic. Sharing this view with my «trio». Priceless.

“All travel has its advantages. If the passenger visits better countries, he may learn to improve his own. And if fortune carries him to worse, he may learn to enjoy it.” – Samuel Johnson (1709-1784)

We are travelling in Europe now and I realized how great it is to discover a country by train. When are we going to have a North American efficient passenger train service ?

All we need is LOVE

«Love is a symbol of eternity.  It wipes out all sense of time, destroying all memory of a beginning and all fear of an end».  Author Unknown

I know it sounds cliché but it is Valentine’s Day. I hope everyone is taking at least one day a year to tell their loved one how important they are. I also hope everyone is having a thought for those who are looking for love without finding any.

The Old Continent

«In the face of an obstacle which is impossible to overcome, stubbornness is stupid». Simone de Beauvoir (1908-1986)

Being in France inspired me to pick this quote… and I’m also really working on being less stubborn. A life time project.

Art piece is by Maja Bality.

Work ?

«one of the symptoms of approaching nervous breakdowns is the belief that one’s work is terribly important. If I were a medical man, I should prescribe a holiday to any patient who considered his work important». –Bertrand Russell (1872-1970)

Being on a maternity leave I dont think much about working but I have few colleagues who had breakdowns so I thought of them when I saw that quote. I think Russell was right we need holiday. After all the guy lived almost til one hundred years old ! By the way, first family vacation starts today !!

Hey sista !

«Children of the same family, the same blood, with the same first associations and habits, have some means of enjoyment in their power, which no subsequent connections can supply». -Jane Austen, Author (1775-1817).

When I was young I used to think my sister was a bullet. I did’nt really enjoy bringing her with my circle of friends. Then in the teenagers year I was a mess and she has always been calm and down to earth. Now that we are both adults and we can share motherhood story I realize how wonderful she is and how stupid I was to not see the great person she has always been. On my side. Just me being blind. I’m glad I can share some wonderful time with her. She is gold for me and have been there for difficult time in my life. Love you sista.

«If it weren’t for the last minute, I wouldn’t get anything done».  Author Unknown

This quote is really appropriate today as I’m just finishing a freelance piece I’m doing about Olympic athletes. I greatly enjoy writting and my daily job involves a lot of deadlines but I keep procrastinate. That’s who I am. Do I have to mention that I’m also late on my post for this blog 😉 As I was saying, That’s who I am ! Things get done but at my pace…

Feedback, anyone ?

«This may sound a little West Texan to you, but I like it. When I’m talking about.. when I’m talking about myself, and when he’s talking about myself, all of us are talking about me.» -George W. Bush 43rd USA President

How funny is that quote ? I’m asking you a question because it has been over a month now that I’m writting this blog and I know few people (not in my entourage it’s a secret project and only my life partner knows) are reading it but I would like you to share with me what you think of it ? I know I’m running late but other then that, any comments ? Area to improve (other then my not so good english) ? Thanks.
