“I’m not an abstractionist. I’m not interested in the relationship of color or form or anything else. I’m interested only in expressing basic human emotions: tragedy, ecstasy, doom, and so on.” – Mark Rothko (1903-1970) Latvian-American Painter
My quote today is dedicated to Pascale Monnin an Haitian artist who did this art piece. My life partner shared it with me and he was saying how powerful it is. I thinks it’s not only powerful but it’s also showing so much strengh. The strong lines. The urge to express so many emotions on one canvas. Impressive. The drawing illustrate the earthquake catastrophe in Haiti and it was published in the New York Times.
